History
Fudoshin Kendo Australia was established in Melbourne in 1994 by Brett Smith and Damian Carmody-Stephens, two kendoka and best friends who shared a deep and unwavering commitment to rigorous training since their start in 1985.
Their primary motivation for founding the club was a strong passion for continuous improvement and an unwavering focus on their training goals. They believed that over time the club would attract like-minded individuals who shared this dedication to excellence. When choosing a name, both Brett and Damian wanted something that would symbolise more than just their training location. The name needed to serve as a constant reminder to all members of the club's mission and collective pursuit of excellence. Fudoshin is at the core of everything we stand for. |
